Chae Jong Hyeop is confirmed to be starring alongside Kim So Hyun in the new romance drama Is It a Coincidence!
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, 우연일까 Is It a Coincidence (LT) follows the life of young people after accidentally meeting their first love. It also depicts the story of searching for true love and chasing dreams.
Billed as a mellow romance genre, the series will be showcasing the two characters reminiscing their first love.
The series will be helmed by screenwriter Park Geu Ro and director Song Hyun Wook (The Golden Spoon, The King’s Affection, Undercover, Another Miss Oh).
Chae Jong Hyeop will portray the role of Kang Hoo Young, an attractive and intelligent financial planner living in the United States. While he doesn’t need to work hard to achieve great results because of his good looks and natural brain, his life is dull and empty.
But as he returns to Korea after a long time, he finds his heart fluttering again after reuniting with his high school first love Lee Hong Joo (played by Kim So Hyun) after 10 years.
The Nevertheless actor has proved his fantastic growth and acting skills through various dramas including Sisyphus the Myth and Stove League. Furthermore, he has established himself as one of the leading actors of his generation with his starring roles in The Witch’s Diner and Love All Play. Thus, the viewers’ anticipations rise as to how he will portray his character this time.
Just recently, the actor has also been cast in the upcoming ENA Wednesday-Thursday drama Unlock the Boss.
